Premiums were driven up by Obamacare’s:
- Maze of federal insurance mandates
- Flawed subsidy design.
Half of the increases can be rolled back if certain Obamacare mandates are removed by Congress!!
Congress should move on The Health Care Choices proposal that would reduce premiums and enhance choices by allowing states to:
- Eliminate the single risk pool requirement
- Use a portion of federal allotments to establish risk-mitigation programs
- Escape the federal “essential health benefits” mandate
- Allow insurers to sell more affordable policies
- Allow insurers to charge young adults fair premiums
